The Red Alder grows in temperate climates along the western coast of North America seldom farther than 120 miles inland from the coast and higher that 2,400 feet. Its bark is a dark ashy color, often draped with moss. Red Alder is used largely in manufacturing and lumber production and by natives as a homeopathic remedy for many things.
Sitka spruce is a large growing coniferous evergreen tree. Sitka Spruce grows along the north western coast of North America due to the relatively moderate temperatures and high rainfall. Sitka spruce is used widely for its timber and tendency to grow in conditions less tolerable for other plants.
Port Orford Cedar is an evergreen tree whose name comes from the area from which it was first discovered: Port Orford, Oregon. The Port Orford cedar lives best in moderately heated areas with high precipitation. These trees are grown from resistant parent seeds. Port Orford Cedar is valued in East Asia for its lumber.

Crabapple trees are relatively small trees generaly growing between about 15 and 40 feet tall. they produce colorful blossoms in the spring and the summer to pollinate, and through the fall and early winter it grows apples anywhere from half of an inch to 3 inches in diameter. groes best in temperate, moderate climates much like our own.
Red Elderberry is a tree-like shrub growing up to 15 feet or more, generally in moist areas. it is native to Europe, more moderately heated areas of Asia, and norhtern to central North America. this plant produces conical shaped clusters of flowers, the buds of which are pink but flower into whitish-yellow flowers.

Oceanspray is a shrub that produces drooping cones of white daisy-like flowers. Later, white berries will be produced that have been historically used by natives for aid to many different ailments. Ocean Spray grows in a variety of different habitats, but usually near Douglas Fir trees. It also grows well in areas of wildfire and will often lead succession in it.
Twin Berry is a moderately large honeysuckle shrub with yellow tubular flowers that grow in pairs. It produces berries that that are relatively spherical and black that just as well develop in pairs. Twinberry is used often as an ornamental plant in gardens for its resistance to air pollution. The berries may be edible or poisonous depending on ripeness of the berry.
Red Flowering Currant is a relatively small shrub growing to about 6 feet or so Along the coast line of western North America. It produces flowers in clusters of alternating stems that are usually red to pink in color. While it does produce purple oval-shaped berries, the berries harbor a bland taste with little flavor.

Evergreen Huckleberry is a moderately size bush. Growing in size based upon it's habitat, it grows well in either sun or shade provided the soils meet its acidic preferences. This plant grows particularly well in or around other plants, but may not keep itself contained very well. It is used often as an ornamental plant in natural habitat gardens.
Black Cottonwood is a moderately large growing tree that is rather short lived in relation to other trees, generally no more than 400. It is native to the north-western side of North America. These trees produce catkins that grow seeds that have short white hairs that look somewhat like cotton. Used widely for its quick growing lumber.
